This is a 52 week devotional geared towards those who like to hunt and fish based on the book of Genesis in the Bible. It’s intended to be read weekly with opportunities for further study given. Many of the anecdotes take place in and around Erie County, PA.
A Present Help in Trouble
One in four pregnancies ends in loss. My wife Natalie and I know this all too well as our daughter Hannah passed at away 38 weeks due to a genetic issue. However, I was not alone in that suffering. God was with me every step of the way, and was my present help in trouble. In this short book I wrestle with loss, the goodness of God, His grace amid loss, men and grieving, and practical matters like how to plan a child’s funeral.

Rev. Marc D. Miller is the husband of Natalie Miller. He is the father of five children. Three children are here on this earth and two are with Jesus. Born in the Upper Peninsula, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and being outdoors with his family. He is also the author of A Present Help in Trouble: God’s Grace in Infant loss.” He moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan where he attended Reformed Bible College, now Kuyper College.
Later, he attended Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC. He is the pastor of West Erie Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Erie, PA, where he has served for 15 years.
