Elizabeth Sawyer A sharp-witted, independent woman ostracized by her village as a "witch." Cynical, resilient, and refuses to sell her soul.
Scratch: The Devil personified as a charming, smooth, business-minded salesman peddling hope and temptation.
Sir Arthur Banks The wealthy, powerful Lord of the estate, obsessed with status and legacy.
Cuddy Banks Sir Arthur’s sensitive, closeted son. Desperate for his father's approval and secretly in love with Frank.
Frank Thorney A handsome, ruthlessly ambitious young man from a poor background, favored by Sir Arthur.
Winnifred Sir Arthur’s low-status housemaid, who is in a secret, complicated relationship with Frank.
