Heart & Earth: A Cacao & Sound Ceremony Coming Back to Life
Join psychotherapists and ceremonial facilitators Esau Aguayo and Justin Yasgoor for a 90-minute ceremonial experience that weaves together cacao medicine, Indigenous wisdom, somatic awareness, and immersive sound.
Coming Back to Life is an invitation to pause, soften, and remember the vitality that lives beneath the demands of everyday life. As the seasons shift, this Heart & Earth gathering offers space to shed what no longer serves, reconnect with your inner landscape, and return to the quiet wisdom of the heart.
The evening begins with a grounding cacao ceremony guided by Esau, creating a heart-centered and intentional container for presence, reflection, and connection. Drawing from his work alongside cacao-growing families in Chiapas and his background in Gestalt psychotherapy, Esau gently invites participants to settle into the body, clarify intention, and deepen their relationship with themselves, one another, and the present moment.
From this grounded foundation, the journey unfolds into an immersive didgeridoo sound experience led by Justin. Through the deep, resonant voice of this ancient instrument, Justin creates a rich sonic landscape that supports nervous system regulation, embodied awareness, and deep listening. Offered not as a performance but as a ceremonial practice, the sound becomes a companion—guiding participants through states of rest, renewal, reflection, and integration.
Together, cacao and sound create a living ceremonial arc—grounding the body, opening the heart, and gently attuning participants to both their own inner rhythms and the shared pulse of community. Within this carefully held space, there is an opportunity to reconnect with what is alive, resilient, and deeply rooted within.
This offering is trauma-informed, compassionately facilitated, and open to all. No previous experience with cacao or sound meditation is necessary.
What to Bring: Please bring a comfortable mat, blanket, small pillow, and eye mask if you have one. Loose, comfortable clothing is recommended. Additional blankets and bolsters will be available to borrow.
