Details:
Voices of Resilience bears witness — not only to the environmental shifts reshaping Nashville's landscape, but to the lived experiences of its people, their memories, their survival, and their hope. Organized by Urban Green Lab (UGL) in partnership with Tennessee State University (TSU), this project started as an oral-history archive documenting how shifts in climate — heat, storms, floods — are already altering the everyday lives of Nashvillians. In this exhibition, narratives and portraits by Tasha Lemley and artwork by Dr. Megan Jordan — in collaboration with local Nashville artists — transform these stories from audio and text into embodied visual, spatial, and symbolic experiences. Through photography, mixed media, text, and participatory installation, the exhibition makes visible what is often invisible: the human cost of climate destabilization, and the quiet courage of communities pressing onward with solutions we can all heed. The Curb Center is an interdisciplinary arts center aiming to elevate art as a mode of inquiry, a way of understanding, and a celebration of the human spirit at Vanderbilt and beyond.
