All-Ages Acoustic Jam

Let's make music together! Bring instruments and songs to share, and join a classic jam circle, facilitated by community musicians.
No 'jamming' experience required. This is a laid-back opportunity to learn to play well with others.
All acoustic instruments are welcome. Percussive instruments will be monitored for volume.
What you'll learn:

Active Listening: Learning to hear how one's own sound fits into the collective whole, which is essential for collaborative play.

Confidence & Risk-Taking: Performing in a supportive, low-stakes environment allows participants of all ages to experiment with new sounds and instruments.

Community Building: Engaging in a non-verbal dialogue with neighbors and strangers, fostering a sense of belonging and mutual respect.

Musical Improvisation: Understanding how to create melodies or rhythms on the fly within a shared framework.

Rhythmic Accuracy: Keeping time with a group, which strengthens internal pulse and coordination.

Adaptability: Learning to follow shifts in tempo, key, or mood as directed by the community facilitators or the energy of the group.

Fine Motor Skills: Practicing the dexterity required to handle instruments, from simple noisemakers to complex string or percussion instruments.

Hand-Eye Coordination: Synchronizing physical movements with the sounds being produced and the visual cues from other musicians.
