Community Dinner & Screening of The Grocery List Show | Makeup Date In-Person

This is the makeup date for the screening that was canceled last month. This time, we're teaming up with Jesse Steiger from Conscious Cafe (50 Church Street) to present The Grocery List Show during one of his Community Dinners! While Jesse prepares a special dish with a story of its own, we'll watch episodes of The Grocery List Show that celebrate the diverse communities and cultures that make up the United States. Join us for a true community event filled with food, stories, and connection. Registration is not required, but space is limited. Dinner is available by donation. The Grocery List Show (directed by Emily Strong) Hosted by Top Chef contender Chrissy Camba, The Grocery List Show is a trip to five bustling international grocery stores in America and the communities they serve. Special guests and food enthusiasts join Chrissy to shop for ingredients and cook a favorite family recipe, as they celebrate global food traditions over a shared meal. The Grocery List Show celebrates the varied communities and cultures that make up the United States, bridging divisions of politics and class. Viewers can learn regional history, observe the creation of new dishes, and develop kitchen skills. The series also allows audiences to discover new places, explore different cultures, and deepen their comprehension of the world around them. Food can be a reminder of similarities among people and serve as a means of connection and understanding. About the Filmmakers Emily Strong | Producer/Director Emily Strong is an award-winning filmmaker who tells unique stories that express humanity through food and culture. She was a DOC NYC 40 Under 40 honoree, produced Keep Moving Forward (Big Sky Documentary Film Festival) and A Letter for Sang-Ah (Loni Ding Award for Social Justice) . Her directorial debut is Tasting Heritage. Diane M.
