Play It Forward Returns to Knowlton Park

The City of Ellsworth is excited to welcome the community back to Knowlton Park for the 2nd Annual “Play It Forward” event on Saturday, June 13 from 10 am to 2 pm. Family Fun Meets Community Vision at Ellsworth’s Play It Forward Event. This will be the kick-off for our Knowlton Playground Replacement fundraising efforts.
This free, family-friendly event brings together local organizations, City departments, and community partners for a day of fun, connection, and hands-on activities; all centered around one of Ellsworth’s most loved public spaces.
Building on the success of last year’s event, which focused on park improvements and gathering community input, this year’s Play It Forward will continue that conversation while also helping to kick off fundraising efforts for future playground enhancements.
Attendees can look forward to a variety of activities for all ages, including:
•Touch-a-Truck featuring Police, Fire, and Public Works vehicles
•Face painting hosted by the High School’s National Honor Society and Student Council
•Popcorn and cotton candy
•Special appearances by SpongeBob cast members from The Grand
•Library Book Bike, library card sign-ups, and giveaways
•A community engagement table focused on future playground planning
The Park’s splash pad will also be open (weather permitting), offering a refreshing way to enjoy the day. Additional activities and food options are expected to be announced as the event approaches.
Play It Forward continues to be a collaborative effort, bringing together local partners and residents to celebrate, support, and shape the future of Ellsworth’s parks and recreation spaces. The City encourages families, residents, and visitors to come out, and enjoy the day.
