Get ready to build something big, bold, and beautifully unique in this 18"–24" Garden Totem workshop!
We’ll be using the punch pot method and hump molds to create a series of closed forms that stack into a sculptural garden totem. Once your pieces are formed, you’ll have the chance to carve, press, and layer in texture—this is where your personality really shines. The final step is cutting holes so each piece can slide onto a stake, transforming your forms into a whimsical garden feature for your yard, planter, or walkway.
**Please note:** This is a more in-depth project than our usual classes, so please plan for a little extra time and a relaxed pace.
I’ll provide all the tools, clay, and guidance you need—your job is simply to show up ready to get creative, experiment, and maybe get a little gloriously muddy along the way.
Because clay needs time to fully dry before firing, this project takes several weeks to complete. Once your totem is bone dry, it will go through a bisque firing. After that, I’ll clean each piece, wax the underside, apply glaze, and give it its final firing. Finished pieces will be ready for pick-up in approximately 4–6 weeks. Shipping is also available for an additional fee.
Please wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting messy, closed-toe shoes, and pull long hair back. We recommend leaving rings, bracelets, and other loose jewelry at home.
**Please Note:**
• Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before class begins
• All studio rules and procedures must be followed
• Due to limited seating, class registrations are non-refundable
