**Intro to Bluegrass Banjo with John Boulding** is a 12-week course designed to teach the fundamentals of bluegrass banjo technique, meeting Mondays from 5:15 - 6:15 PM over 14 weeks (with breaks during the weeks of October 15 and Thanksgiving). Required materials include a 5-string banjo, finger picks, a tuner, and a recording device. While primarily for older teens and adults, dedicated younger students may be admitted with instructor permission.
**Fiddle Exploration with Jonathan Owens** is another engaging 12-week course taking place Thursdays from 6:30 - 7:30 PM, aimed at adult students with a basic understanding of the violin. Participants will enhance their skills in a supportive environment, and younger students may also join with approval. Required materials include a fiddle/violin, notebook, pencil, and recording device.
In addition, consider enrolling in **Songwriting with Tommy Jackson**, which focuses on the fundamentals of songwriting over 12 weeks, meeting Tuesdays from 5:30 - 6:30 PM. Though proficiency in an instrument is encouraged, it is not mandatory. Students will need a notebook, pen or pencil, and a recording device.
For guitar enthusiasts, **Intro to the CAGED System with Josh Casstevens** offers insight into chord movement on the guitar neck on Tuesdays from 5:30 - 6:30 PM, alongside **Pentatonic Scales for Intermediate/Advanced Guitar** from 8:00 - 9:00 PM, and **Music Theory for Any Instrument** from 6:45 - 7:45 PM, all within the same 12-week timeframe.
