Details:
Save the date for the second event for the 2026 Bufferlands collaboration cleanup series with EGAT, RCWA and Sac Sewer.
Meetup location will be in the farthest, SW corner of Delta Shores Shopping Center. Look for our cars behind the vacant store previously called “At Home“. We will gather there and caravan in.
Similar to May 31, we will caravan into the Bufferlands to get close to our access area. We will assess and clean a familiar starting spot along Morrison Creek. Parking will be on a level surface, and we will be working along the shoreline and possibly in the creek. Boots are strongly recommended for protection against weeds, reeds, and should you be in the water, you will want your boots.
There will be an opportunity for those who wish to wear waders, but the mud is rather muddy
. There may also be an opportunity to put the boat in the water to reach some tricky items further out.
Join us as we continue our partnership with EGAT, River City Waterway Alliance, and the Sacramento Area Sewer District to clean up the Bufferlands. Sunday’s event continues our efforts to address the trash and debris buildup at Sac Sewer’s Bufferlands ecosystem.

This beautiful ecosystem, fed by several creeks, can also become a graveyard for trash and debris washed down from upstream storm water systems and encampments.
This event is our 19th visit overall by dedicated volunteers. Our goal is to remove as much trash from the Bufferlands and promote efforts to prevent trash from entering the ecosystem in the future.
Please arrive *prior* to 8:30 am. The best place to meet will be behind the vacant store “At Home” in the SW corner of the shopping center. From there, we will either caravan or carpool further into the site. Latecomers will not be accommodated as gates will be locked after we enter.
If anybody needs to leave early, that will be fine, as we have a way to depart through the gates.
If we are near water, anyone with a kayak or canoe is authorized to bring one if they'd like to collect trash from the water in tandem with the trash barge.
Volunteers who have yet to participate here will need to arrive early to sign waivers, and everyone will need to sign the event sheet.
Please bring your own canteen into the cleanup location. Water and Porta Potty will be available on site.
