Author Jeff Chu, a featured Church Anew collaborator and speaker, has written a new book titled Good Soil. Good Soil is a profound meditation on nature, heritage, and belonging, from an accomplished journalist who left New York City for life on a working farm. In his late thirties, Chu quit his job as a magazine writer and found himself at Princeton Theological Seminary's "Farminary"— a 21-acre working farm where students cultivate the earth while examining life's biggest questions. Now he unpacks what he learned about creating "good soil. " Both literally and figuratively, drawing lessons from the rhythms of growth, decay, and regeneration that define life on the land. All are welcome to join this book study in one of two ways — in person on Thursday mornings or via Teams from the comfort of your home on Sunday evenings. If you cannot attend in-person or online, we encourage you to read the book on your own or gather with a group of friends, neighbors, or other St. Andrew folks and form your own book club. Books are available for purchase at the front desk for 26 or from your favorite book sellers. Formerly called Pastor's Book Study.
