Current Exhibit: Omé-Na-Ala, Igbo Traditional Farm

The current exhibit at The Garden Gallery, titled "Omé-Na-Ala, Igbo Traditional Farm," is a collaborative living exhibit designed to highlight the stories of historically overlooked communities through plants. Co-curated by Chidi Chidozie, this exhibit runs from June 1 through the harvest season and features the sacred and vital plants of the Igbo people of Nigeria, showcasing essential foods alongside a scaled-down representation of an Igbo village. This initiative not only celebrates the rich agricultural heritage of the Igbo community, which has thrived in Minnesota over the past 40 years but also promotes awareness of their ancient practices as self-sufficient farmers and traders.
