Details:
Join local anglers Brian Wagner and Bruce McCutcheon from the Forks of the Delaware chapter of Trout Unlimited for a beginner-friendly Family Fly Fishing event! This program offers an introduction to fly fishing, where you will learn about fly rod anatomy and assembly, basic fish identification, knot tying, tips on flies, and have the opportunity to practice your casting skills. Participants should prepare for the day by bringing their own lunch, water, and snacks, as there will be a break for lunch. We will meet in the morning at the Environmental Education Center at 400 Belfast Road, then travel to a local pond in the afternoon (approximately 3 miles away) for fishing practice. Equipment will be provided. This program is ideal for families with children aged 12 and older. Registration is required, and the event is free: eventsreg.dcnr.pa.gov/register/create/52752734280387.
