Join us for "Proud & Free: A Pride and Juneteenth Celebration," an inclusive event honoring community, history, and self-expression for all generations. Enjoy an afternoon filled with crafts, activities, and readings from the book "Unstoppable: How Bayard Rustin Organized the 1963 March on Washington," suitable for all ages. The festivities will culminate with a conversation at 5:30 PM featuring Walter Naegle, Bayard Rustin’s partner and RHS graduate, alongside RHS Librarian Roxana Caivano, who will share insights into Rustin's impactful life and legacy.
The evening will conclude with a screening of the inspiring 2023 film "Rustin," centered on the civil rights leader Bayard Rustin, who played a pivotal role in the 1963 March on Washington while facing racism and homophobia. Pizza will be served to attendees. Join us for a meaningful and uplifting evening that celebrates diversity, kindness, peaceful protest, and the power of community. Everyone is welcome!
