The Native Plant Society of New Jersey (NPSNJ) is a statewide non-profit organization founded in 1985. Its mission is to promote the appreciation, protection, and study of New Jersey's native flora. NPSNJ comprises hundreds of members across the state, organized into county and regional chapters. Members include gardeners, horticulturists, naturalists, landscape designers, students, and native plant enthusiasts. The organization engages in activities such as tending native plant gardens, leading nature walks, and hosting educational events and symposia focused on native plants, conservation, and ecological restoration. NPSNJ also offers mini-grants for native plant projects and aims to educate the public on the benefits of using native plants, including supporting local wildlife, improving water quality, and reducing maintenance needs.
