Music in the Trees brings an eclectic lineup of talented local artists to the Zoo, featuring everything from classical fusion, world rhythms, and acoustic roots music to pop, funk, jazz, and crowd-favorite classics. As you stroll through the treetops, relax to soothing melodies, dance along to interactive global beats, or discover fresh takes on songs you know and love — all set against the peaceful backdrop of nature. Whether you’re looking for a lively afternoon with the family or a relaxing escape outdoors, Music in the Trees offers a one-of-a-kind summer experience that’s equal parts concert, nature walk, and Zoo adventure. Various Artists | Select Sundays | 2-4pm June 28: - Siama's Congo Roots - Bring the whole family and experience the joyful sounds of Siama’s Congo Roots, featuring feel-good acoustic music inspired by the rhythms and traditions of Central Africa. The group creates an uplifting, interactive performance that invites guests of all ages to sing, dance, and join the fun. - Melissa Warhol - A calming blend of new age and classical piano music to the treetops, creating a peaceful soundtrack inspired by nature and relaxation. Gentle melodies and an immersive outdoor setting offer you a chance to slow down, unwind, and enjoy a moment of serenity surrounded by nature. July 12: - WorldBeat Duo - A vibrant blend of global rhythms, uplifting melodies, and interactive energy on the Treetop Trail stage. Inspired by musical traditions from around the world, the duo creates a joyful, family-friendly atmosphere that invites guests of all ages to move, dance, and connect through music. - Thyme and the Spice - Infuse jazz and pop standards with an effortless acoustic vibe. Equally at home in a variety of musical genres, they enjoy creating fresh and improvised arrangements of familiar songs during performances. The band consists of Madison Holtze (vocals and violin), Fred Flowerday (piano), Trevor Wiest (guitar) and John Holtze (upright bass). Each member has decades of experience performing in the Twin Cities and throughout the country. They fuse their wide range of musical backgrounds (jazz, pop, opera, r&b, theatre, bluegrass, rock, country) into a captivating musical dish with plenty of flavor tossed in.
