Details:
Join us for a combined exploration of nature and community at our upcoming events: the "Blooming-ton Botanicals" Naturalist Program and the "Indigenous Arboretum and Botanical Gardens - Step 1: Soil Rejuvenation."
During the Blooming-ton Botanicals event, families and adults can enjoy making seed bombs with Naturalist Jennan, learning about prairie restoration from Natural Resources Specialist Wade, and helping to clean up Smith Park by collecting trash. This free, two-hour drop-in event welcomes participants at any time, weather permitting. For updates, check the Parks and Recreation Facebook page or call 952-563-8878.
At the Indigenous Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, join us at Pond Dakota Mission Park to enhance soil quality through hands-on activities. You'll learn about soil compaction, rock dust, and other amendments while helping to rejuvenate the soil by shoveling, loading, and raking. Be sure to wear suitable clothing and footwear, and feel free to bring your own tools if you can. Like the previous event, this is also a free, three-hour drop-in opportunity with no registration required.
Come participate in these engaging activities to enhance both your knowledge and your local environment!
