MIY Summer Sessions
There always seems to be so many summer camps and programs for young kids, but what about the tweens and teens who are old enough to stay home alone but you'd rather they spend their time doing something fun and productive? Enter: MIY Summer Sessions!
Our Summer Sessions are for rising 7th-9th graders.
About MIY Summer Sessions
Running 3 days/ week from 10am-1pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, each session offers the perfect amount of social and creative time, without feeling over-scheduled. Each session features a different medium/theme, some resulting in several completed works and others featuring a group exhibit/show. Your tween/teen will spend their time learning new things, making fun crafts, listening to music, chatting and laughing with peers, and just generally having a great time. On Friday, after lunch, we'll walk to B's Ice Cream or Kilwin's for a treat (this is included in the session fee.)

Details about THIS Session: Mixed Media & 3D Art
In this session we'll explore innovative ways to combine paper, cardboard, magazines, and paint to create visual art that is beautiful and compelling. We'll work to create traditional flat pieces like collages, but also three-dimensional structures, experimenting with engineering principles to bring our designs to fruition. Art is intriguing; it inspires a sense of curiosity for both the maker and the viewer. The maker enjoys the process of "what if..." while the viewer ponders "how?"
