Durant Regional Airport - Eaker Field

10 Waldron Dr, Durant, OK 74701, USA

Durant Regional Airport – Eaker Field has been a proud part of southern Oklahoma’s story for generations. Originally built to serve the region’s growing aviation community, the airport quickly became a hub for connection, commerce, and opportunity. The current field was established by the Navy in 1943 as an auxiliary airfield for wartime operations. It featured airline service between 1949 and 1954.

The airport carries the name of General Ira Clarence Eaker, a Durant native and one of America’s most distinguished military aviators. As commander of the U.S. Eighth Air Force in World War II, General Eaker’s leadership and vision helped shape the course of history. His legacy of courage and innovation continues to inspire the mission of the airport that honors him today.
