The Durango Botanic Gardens, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, aims to create public gardens for demonstration, education, and inspiration, showcasing plants that thrive in southwest Colorado's challenging climate. Located adjacent to the Durango Public Library, the gardens are maintained by volunteers and funded by donations and memberships. They offer various themed gardens, including a Literary Garden, and provide group tours to educate visitors on horticultural practices.
