Adventure with Pride Series (Various Locations)
This monthly LGBTQ+ program is open to community members and allies, for adults ages 18 or older. Each month features a different theme, giving participants the chance to explore a variety of adventures in recreation while exploring (new) hobbies or interests. Come try something new, meet people with shared interests and enjoy community in an inclusive environment!

The month’s topics are…
Paddling Belle Isle Park (Belle Isle Park)
Sunday, June 28
9-11 a.m.
Join OAC staff at Belle Isle Park for an introduction to kayaking before setting out on the beautiful canals. We will meet at the Flynn Pavilion to be outfitted with equipment (one-person kayak, lifejacket and paddle) and receive instruction from Simple Adventures. Once we launch, we will be out on the water for about one hour. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided to participants upon return to shore. This is a safe space for LGBTQ+ community members and allies.
Preregistration is required. Cost is $27 per person.

Fishing (Milliken State Park)

9:30-11 a.m.
Let’s go fishing! Have you wanted to try fishing or love to fish? Join OAC educators to learn how to safely go fishing and identify some species that are commonly caught in the Detroit River. This is a safe space for LGBTQ+ community members and allies. All fishing equipment is provided.
You must purchase a fishing license (available at Michigan.gov/DNRLicenses) to fish.
Preregistration is required. Cost is $5 per person.

Archery (DNR Outdoor Adventure Center)
Tuesday, August 18
6-7 p.m.
Join us for a fun, adults-only night of archery in our indoor archery range! Learn the basics of shooting, practice your skills and end the night with a group game, all in a relaxed, inclusive environment. No experience required. This is a safe space for LGBTQ+ community members and allies.
Close-toed shoes are required.
Please review the Outdoor Adventure Center’s archery regulations before attending a class.
Preregistration is required. Cost is $12 per person.
