Get ready to dig, discover, and explore at the Greenwood Public Library’s Dino DiscoveryLab!
Join us on Monday, July 6, 2026 from 10:30–11:30 AM for an exciting, hands-on paleontology adventure designed for kids ages 4–12 with the Play Lab Company.
Young scientists will rotate through five interactive stations, each offering a unique look at how real paleontologists study dinosaurs:
The Plaster Jacket Station: Learn how fossils are protected in the field using foil and special wraps for safe transport.
The Micro-Fossil Dig: Use tweezers and magnifiers to carefully uncover tiny teeth and claws hidden in sediment.
Ice Age Excavation: Rescue dinosaurs frozen in ice using salt and warm water tools in this sensory-rich activity.
Carbon-Film Impressions: Create your own “fossils” by making skin and leaf impressions with a custom dough.
The Specimen Tag Desk: Name your discoveries and record their story like a real scientist.
This exciting program combines creativity, science, and hands-on exploration for a truly immersive experience.
Space is limited, so be sure to register each participating child in advance. Registration is available online or by calling (302) 855-1242.
