Carolanne Deal (she/they) is a museum professional and Delaware queer historian. They are the creator of @DelawareQueerHistory on Instagram and were the lead researcher on the state’s LGBTQ History of Delaware Research & Digital Engagement Project.
“Queer Civil Rights in Delaware” will explore the stories behind Delaware’s queer legal achievements and the earliest queer civil rights pioneers in the state. From brave, self-declared homosexuals, to lesbian pioneers and grassroots community action, Carolanne will share the various ways queer people have fought for and achieved equal protections under the law.
