We have three DanceAbility sessions at Cullen Plaza on the Riverfront this summer. Come dance with the breeze and the river. Remaining sessions are July 23 and August 27 from 11am - 12:30pm at Cullen Plaza. Wed July 23rd: MAGHAN SOWANDE KEITA Maghan Sowandé Keïta, also known as Djembist for the Stars, has played with MJ, Stevie Wonder, King Sunny Ade, and Lauren Hill. He is a Detroit-based percussionist and educator specializing in Mandeng African drumming and dance. He is known for his work with the Omowale Culture Society, founded by his father, and for teaching the cultural significance behind the music. Sowandé also received a 2024 Kresge Artist Fellowship.
