Senior Stroll - Oudolf Garden
Tuesday, June 16
10-11:30 a.m.
Join a naturalist for a casual stroll through one of our state parks or local historic areas. Each month, we’ll focus on a topic related to natural or cultural history. Wear your walking shoes and dress for the weather – we’ll go out rain, snow or shine! Meet at the designated location. Maps will be provided upon registration. Trail conditions vary - see descriptions.
Oudolf Garden on Belle Isle Park is a 3-acre garden, artistic and ecological by design, with perennials, grasses, shrubs and trees chosen for their hardiness, durability, and ever-changing textures and colors for enjoyment in all four seasons. A tour will be provided by a member of the Oudolf Garden Detroit Grounds Crew.
The garden is accessible, with a concrete walkway along the edge and crushed granite and grassy paths between the beds. Parking is directly adjacent to the garden area, with bathrooms a short distance away by car.
This is an outdoor event held rain or shine; please dress for the weather.
Note that this is an offsite program taking place at Belle Isle Park.
Preregistration is required. This is a free offsite event. A Recreation Passport (available at Michigan.gov/dnr/buy-and-apply/rec-pp) is required to enter Belle Isle Park.
