Join us for an exciting series of outdoor adventures this summer, featuring kayaking and other recreational activities aimed at fostering community and inclusivity for adults aged 18 and older, particularly within the LGBTQ+ community and allies.
Experience the beauty of the Detroit River canals with our "Kayaking the Detroit River Canals" events on select Tuesdays: June 16, July 14, July 28, August 4, and August 18, from 6-8 p.m. Led by Outdoor Adventure Center educators and Detroit River Sports, these two-hour sessions will include paddling along a scenic 3-mile route with historical insights into the river and its surroundings. Participants will have guaranteed water time and all necessary gear will be provided. Cost is $49 per person, and preregistration is required.
Additionally, join our "Adventure with Pride Series," offering various outdoor activities each month. Upcoming events include:
- **Paddling Belle Isle Park** on June 28, from 9-11 a.m., featuring an introduction to kayaking ($27).
- **Fishing at Milliken State Park** on July 19, from 9:30-11 a.m., where you can learn to fish (fishing license required, $5).
- **Archery at the DNR Outdoor Adventure Center** on August 18, from 6-7 p.m., where you can learn shooting basics in a fun environment ($12).
