Details:
Join us for **Summer Family Fridays** at the State Historical Museum of Iowa, where families can explore various themes related to Iowa's history through hands-on activities, scavenger hunts, and guided tours every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This summer, experience a special focus on **Early Iowa Statehood** on July 17, when visitors can delve into Iowa's pioneer era with themed crafts, a "Pack Your Wagon" activity, games, and a guided tour highlighting the state's early years since becoming a part of the Union in 1846. Each week features a different historical theme, including transportation, Juneteenth, and America’s 250th birthday, encouraging families to participate in engaging and educational activities. Additionally, visitors can collect stamps in their Summer Museum Activity Pass for a chance to win a special museum collections tour. Note that while registration is required for the Collection Tours, all other activities are drop-in and self-guided.
