And the best part — its free! Held on Thursday evenings throughout the summer (June-August), Lawn Chair Night transforms Downtown Decorah into a welcoming concert venue. Whether you’re a fan of bluegrass, jazz, folk, or hometown marching bands, the series features a wide range of musical acts that reflect the heart and soul of the region.
THIS WEEK: Based in Des Moines, Iowa, Joshua Sinclair is a prolific alt-country and Americana one-man-band known for his heavy touring schedule (playing around 200 shows a year). He uses a guitar, microphone, and a live-looping pedal to create full-band dynamics entirely on stage without pre-recorded tracks.
Lawn Chair Night has been a program of Downtown Decorah Betterment for more than 25 years and is one of the community’s most beloved traditions as a weekly summer series of free outdoor concerts that brings locals and visitors together under the open sky. It's now made possible by DDBA in partnership with Visit Decorah Tourism, Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce, and Impact Coffee. The 2026 season is generously supported by top sponsors AJ Realty, Oneota Community Food Co-op, and ITC... along with 10+ supporting sponsors for specific nights throughout the season. This free, public event features both local and regional talent.
In the event of rain, the event will be moved inside Impact Coffee. Rain announcements will be made on Facebook's Visit Decorah page and the Downtown Decorah Betterment page.
