This course explores the transformative practice of Reiki, a Japanese meditation and energy balancing system rooted in Buddhism and Shinto, uniquely tailored for birth support professionals. Reiki promotes a state of balance and wholeness, allowing practitioners to create a nurturing environment that empowers both themselves and their clients throughout the pregnancy and birthing journey.

Participants will learn three foundational Reiki practices designed to enhance their capacity to support clients effectively. Training emphasizes maintaining personal resilience, establishing a safe and calming atmosphere for birth, and utilizing both hands-on and hands-off techniques for client care. Additionally, participants will acquire techniques to empower clients in their own pregnancy experiences.

The course includes eight hours of in-person instruction at HeartScapes Studio in Davis, three optional follow-up practice sessions, a digital workbook with instructional materials, and audio recordings of guided meditations.
