IN PERSON EVENT
Ballet Quad Cities, Dance Me a Story
Danny O'Dare, An Interactive Ballet
Walkers to age 12
What is it?
Exploring Shel Silverstein’s poem, Danny O’Dare, through Ballet. Dance Me a Story uses visual, auditory, and kinesthetic instruction to enhance reading comprehension. After hearing a story read aloud, students are guided by BQC’s professional dancers in identifying characters, plot points, and themes in the narrative. Together, students and professionals use choreography, music, and costumes to create a danced version of the story. Take home a Danny O'Dare Bear Box filled with poem related goodies and a library book, the only item to be returned.
Participant must reside in the SPL District to register and have a SPLD card.
Register each participant separately with their name, age and address.
Self-register each child via Facebook or website when possible.
Please no runny noses or coughs and be fever free for 24 hours.
Please read No Show policy below:
If you cannot attend a program for which you are registered, you must notify the library to cancel. Those that do not cancel their registration prior to the program will be considered a no call, no show. Three no calls, no shows for a household within close succession will result in suspension of program registrations for the following month. This will also apply to those who excessively cancel registrations. To cancel your registration, you may call the library at 309-593-2178 and speak with a staff member.
