The Wallace Centers of Iowa (WCI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of the Wallace family in agricultural innovation and public service. WCI operates two historic locations: the Wallace House in Des Moines and the Wallace Farm near Orient. Their mission is to connect Iowa's food, land, and people through various programs and activities. These include produce production and distribution, with a focus on donating to food-insecure Iowans; locally-sourced dining experiences; community-building and educational programs like cooking classes and historic luncheons; and the creation of small-batch food products. WCI also hosts special events, offers agri-tourism programs, and provides site tours, showcasing family artifacts and the history of agricultural innovation.
