“Stop! That! Train!” isn’t just something RuPaul regularly tells his judging panel, it’s also the name of the first-ever movie in the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” extended universe. The feature film stars “RPDR” royalty Jujubee, Ginger Minj, Brooke Lynn Hytes, Symone, Marcia Marcia Marcia (aka Marty Lauter), Monét X Change, Latrice Royale and Ru herself, as well as dozens of past guest judges and LGBTQ+ icons.
“You read a lot about people not going to the movies these days. Yet, when people do go to the movies, it’s a fun experience, like ‘Barbie.’ You realize what fun the movies can be and how life-affirming that experience can be to see something with an audience and just have fun,” producer Fenton Bailey said. “You know, these are kind of dark times and this kind of crazy, stupid fun we need more of.”
Step aboard the glitzy Glamazonian Express in this star-studded, riotous ride from director Adam Shankman (HAIRSPRAY) that queers the parody genre in the grand, outrageous tradition of AIRPLANE! and THE NAKED GUN. STOP! THAT! TRAIN! follows best friends Tess (Ginger Minj) and DeeDee (Jujubee), train stewardesses who trade their dreary shifts on the Stank Rail for the glitzy Glamazonian Express.
When a catastrophic “Stormaganza” threatens to derail the high-speed train, the duo in coach must join forces with the snobby first class attendants (Symone, Brooke Lynn Hytes, Marcia Marcia Marcia) and President Gagwell (RuPaul) to save the day in this wild roller-coaster of gags, camp, and nonstop hilarity.
