Join the Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 4 PM to celebrate the ribbon cutting and open house for the Tiffin Community Kitchen, located at 90 Jefferson Street, behind Old Trinity Episcopal Church in Downtown Tiffin. The Tiffin Community Kitchen is the heart of a multi-million-dollar community initiative focused on healthy living, culinary training, and connection through food. Created in partnership by Old Trinity Episcopal Church, Seneca County Common Ground, and Clouse Construction, and supported by over 100 donors, this space will be ready to serve Seneca County residents. Led by Executive Director Emily Riehle, Seneca County Common Ground is a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the local food ecosystem. In addition to the Kitchen, the organization oversees the Tiffin Seneca Farmers Market and supports educational initiatives like cooking classes, ServSafe certification, workforce development, and shared community meals—all designed to empower individuals and families through food. The Kitchen is funded through generous support from the Episcopal Diocese of Ohio, Mercy Health, the National Machinery Foundation, Alan and Loretta Kaplan, Tiell Financial Group, and The Tiffin Charitable Foundation’s White Family Charitable Fund. Additional funding is being pursued through a USDA Rural Business Development Grant to further expand programs and services. Following the ribbon cutting at 4 PM, guests are invited to explore the facility, connect with project partners, and enjoy light refreshments until 6 PM. At the 2024 cornerstone ceremony, The Rt. Rev. Anne B. Jolly beautifully compared the Kitchen to the heart of a home—a place where people naturally gather, share food, and form community. Its location in Downtown Tiffin reinforces that symbolism, as it now stands ready to serve as a welcoming hub for education, celebration, and connection.
