Details:
Join us for an enchanting summer experience at McCloud Nature Park with our Astronomy programs, presented in partnership with the Indiana Astronomical Society and Park Naturalists. Enjoy stargazing in a serene environment, free from city light pollution, as thousands of stars illuminate the night sky. Each Saturday evening features a 30-minute informational session, or “sky seminar,” designed for novice astronomers aged 8 and older. Learn about the visible planets and constellations, followed by an outdoor sky-viewing session, where telescopes will be available for use.
Please note that while the sky seminars occur rain or shine, sky viewings depend on clear conditions. The program lasts approximately 2 hours, starting at 9 p.m. (with some exceptions), and does not require advance registration. Mark your calendars for the following dates: May 23, June 20, July 11, August 8, September 19, and October 3, 2026. Remember that the park closes at 11 p.m. on Astronomy nights. Bring your family for a memorable, educational evening under the stars!
