Details:
In recognition of America250, we will be exploring Historical Fiction stories that are relevant to the history of the United States. Although these stories are fictional, they are often well-researched and based upon historical facts. Historical Fiction breathes life into the past and allows us to emotionally connect with stories of lives and experiences that may otherwise be unrealized or forgotten. Our Historical Fiction Book Club will meet on the third Tuesday of the month at 6pm starting February 17. Copies of each month's book for discussion will be available to borrow at the library. Please let us know ahead of time if you would prefer to have an alternative format such as Large Print or Audiobook.
Below is the list of books that we will be discussing at each meeting:
February 17 "The Cold Millions" by Jess Walter
March 17 "The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store" by James McBride
April 21 "Rules of Civility" by Amor Towles
May 19 "Horse" by Geraldine Brooks
June 16 "How Much of These Hills is Gold" by C. Pam Zhang
July 21 "Martha's Vineyard Beach & Book Club" by Martha Hall Kelly
August 18 "The Chelsea Girls" by Fiona Davis
September 15 "My Name is Mary Sutter" by Robin Olivera
October 20 "James" by Percival Everett
