Mythical Succulent Pot: A two day Ceramics class with Amber Flores

Description
Explore Coil pots and slip techniques as you create a fantastical succulent pot straight from your favorite fantasies! In this class, students will use beginner coil building techniques, and surface decoration to bring their whimsical succulent pots to life with eyeballs, teeth, tails, or anything else your mythical creature needs!
Day One: 8/6/2026
Day one: students will begin by creating a coil pot. Coil pots are an essential building block for so many ceramic objects! Students will then use the slip and score technique to add all sorts of creature appendages. Students will use clay studio tools and slip to achieve their desired look. (3 hours)
Day Two: 8/20/2026
Students will learn how to apply glaze to their mythical creatures, giving them a new shine and polished look!
Please note that all pieces will be ready for pick up 3-4 weeks after the end of class. An email will be sent to students when their artwork is ready.
This class skips one week in between days to allow student pieces time to dry.
