5K for K9s 2026

Friends of the Shelter's 18th annual 5K for K9s is Saturday, September 26, at Alum Creek State Park beach area.
You'll love the 5K run/walk along the beach, through the woods and across the dam! The run/walk kicks off at 9 a.m., with registration beginning at 8 a.m.
In addition to our fun, soft t-shirts that are always a hit, each participant will also receive a medal commemorating how you helped save the sick & injured shelter dogs.
Walk/run at the beach or virtually! Our annual run/walk will be held both virtually AND in person. If you prefer, you can participate in the race virtually from Sept. 24-27. Register before Friday, 9/4, and we'll send your t-shirt in advance of the race!
Thanks to our generous sponsors, 100% of the proceeds raised goes directly to the dogs! You’ll have a great time knowing you helped save a dog’s life!
Our 5K for K9s auctions and raffles will be available online starting Thurs., 9/24, 7 am - Sun., 9/27, 9 pm.
