Details:
Join us for the opening reception of Tea Time, a summer exhibition inspired by the global tea cozy collection of the late Ann LaBrunerie, a longtime Columbia art enthusiast whose fascination with domestic rituals uncovered a world of creativity and cultural expression. Featuring historic and contemporary textiles from around the globe alongside original works by Boone County artists, the exhibition explores the artistry, warmth, and shared traditions surrounding tea.
Curated by Robin LaBrunerie and Jo Stealey, Tea Time brings together works in clay, fiber, wood, metal, photography, and more, all inspired by Ann’s remarkable collection of handcrafted tea cozies from countries including Pakistan, India, Iran, and China.
Celebrate the opening of this whimsical and globally inspired exhibition at the opening reception and “Teatime Party” on June 11 from 5:00–7:00 PM. Enjoy an evening of art, conversation, and community as we gather to honor creativity across cultures and generations.
Special thanks to sponsors Steep and Bloom and Robin and Alex LaBrunerie for supporting this exhibition. We are grateful to the Missouri Arts Council for their support. Financial assistance for this program has been provided by the City of Columbia, Office of Cultural Affairs.
