Art Contest (CBMPL, LJRL)

The Summer Annual Art Contest's 2026 theme is Unearth a Story: Desentierra una Historia! Participants are invited to create a drawing or painting of one or more dinosaurs engaged in a fun activity, such as skateboarding, surfing, reading, painting, playing on a playground, or any other imaginative scene. The contest is open to ages 5 to 17. There will be one winner per age group (5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-13, and 14-17) per location, and there will be a grand-prize winner. Artwork must be created no earlier than June 1, 2026 and must be on a 11 x 8.5 piece of paper and not in a frame. Artwork that is larger or in a frame will not be accepted. Artwork will be accepted at both Mounce and Ringer libraries. Artwork must be accompanied by a Copyright/Photo Release form https://weblink.bryantx.gov/Forms/library-release (fill out online or fill out a printed copy when you turn in your artwork). The back of the artwork must include: the name of the artist, the age of artist, and an email or phone number of a parent or legal guardian that staff can contact if the artwork is selected as a winner. Artwork will be voted on by the public July 20 to 26. While the artwork is on display for voting, people will be able to view the artwork and vote on their favorites from each age group. There will be one winner per age group per library, and those winners will be contacted by August 1. Library staff will select a grand prize winner, and that person will be contacted by August 7. All artwork must be picked up by August 28 from the library where it was submitted or we will be forced to discard it.
