TLC’s Malone Preserve—home to woodlands, pocket prairies, riparian bottomlands, and a riverfront spanning 1,700 feet along the Nolan River—is open to the public the first Saturday & Sunday of the month!
Unless otherwise noted, our open preserve weekends do not feature planned programming. Instead, these weekends offer an opportunity for visitors to explore the preserve at their own pace, enjoying its natural beauty and diverse landscapes.
Reservations are not required to attend open weekends, but you will need to follow the rules and safety guidelines when you are visiting the preserve (see below).
IMPORTANT NOTE: There is no overnight camping at this preserve. The gate will be locked at 9pm, so please make sure you are out of the parking lot by that time.
Rules:
Preserve hours
-FALL/WINTER (September - March): 7am - 6pm
-SPRING/SUMMER (April - August): 7am - 9pm
-Stay on established trails
-Pets must be kept on a leash
-Leave what you find
-Don’t damage or disturb the plants and animals
-Pack it in, pack it out - clean up after yourself
-No fires or firearms
-Motorized vehicles of any kind are prohibited
Safety:
-Weather may be dangerous: check before you hike
-Bring water, no potable water available on trail
-Wear sunscreen and appropriate clothing
-Avoid the Perimeter Loop trail along the Nolan River during high water events
