The 509th Force Support Squadron (FSS) at Whiteman Air Force Base is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for all base personnel and their families. Their mission encompasses providing a wide array of recreational activities and community support services. The squadron is structured into nine flights, including Airman and Family Readiness, Child and Youth Services, Civilian Personnel, Community Services, Force Development, Manpower and Organization, Military Personnel, Resource Management, and Sustainment Services. They offer numerous indoor and outdoor recreational facilities and activities, such as a bowling center, outdoor track, library, gymnasium, outdoor pool, disc golf course, and fishing lakes. Additionally, the 509th FSS provides essential services like family support, community programs, education and training, NAF human resources, and marketing and sponsorship opportunities. The squadron plays a crucial role in supporting the overall well-being and morale of the Whiteman AFB community.
