Details:
What is creativity? Yes, it’s a noun: the ability to create or the quality of being creative. But where does that ability and/or quality reside? Like asking where the mind is in the brain, it’s a tricky question. Yet, when it comes to making space for writing and creativity it is isn’t abstract at all, but extremely practical.
In this additional five-week course, we’ll continue to peek into the nature of our own individual creativity and explore where it resides in our life. At what times are we most creative? Do we have natural rhythms we follow? What kind of space do we have set aside to house our creativity? Do we need any more tools or materials to support us?
Like an animal’s nest, a writer’s nest needs time, materials, and care. In this course, we’ll use writing prompts and fun activities to explore how we can design and maintain a “nest” that will serve as a long-lasting place of support and a place to launch from.
No experience needed. Simply arrive with writing material and an open mind. We will primarily be using timed freewriting but we may also experiment with memoir, fiction, and more.
