Grandparent's Camp Heritage

Grandparents and Grandchildren: Join Us for Camp Heritage!
The Village Improvement Association and the Green Cove Springs Preservation Society invite grandparents and grandchildren (Grades 1–6) to participate in the Rivers House Heritage & Adventure Center's Camp Heritage, a unique five-day summer experience designed to help families discover how communities work while creating lasting memories together.

Throughout the week, grandparents and grandchildren will explore Green Cove Springs through hands-on activities, guided walks, special guests, and creative projects. Participants will meet city and county leaders, learn how local government works, visit important public buildings, and discover the people and services that help our community thrive.
Day 1 – How a Town Works
Visit the Clay County Courthouse and meet community leaders who help guide local government, public safety, and civic life.
Day 2 – Seeing Our Town
Become "Archidetectives" as we explore historic buildings, architecture, and the stories hidden in the streets of Green Cove Springs.
Day 3 – Places That Bring People Together
Discover libraries, parks, churches, businesses, and gathering places that help create a strong community.
Day 4 – Remembering Our Stories
Learn local history through storytelling, historic sites, and the people who helped shape our town.
Day 5 – Building Box City
Using everything they've learned during the week, grandparents and grandchildren will design and build their own model community, complete with buildings, streets, parks, and public services.
Camp Heritage combines history, creativity, civic education, and family fun in an affordable program that encourages grandparents and grandchildren to learn together. At just $10 per family, this is one of the best summer values in Green Cove Springs.
