Details:
Join us at Rotary Park for a special event in collaboration with the Clarksville Arts and Heritage Council on June 20th from 7-10 PM. The Celtic band Red River Breeze will fill the woods with folk music while you stroll along to discover the Fairy and Troll House Villages!
Special Nature Center drop-in days in May will allow participants to create their own fairy houses, which are small, whimsical structures often associated with fantasy and folklore, designed to be hidden in wooded areas. To have your fairy or troll house in our village, your house must be dropped off by Saturday, June 20th between 10am-3pm. All houses must follow these guidelines:
- Houses should not exceed one foot in any dimension.
- Materials used must be securely attached to prevent wildlife hazards.
- Houses must include at least one window for illumination. We will provide one battery-operated light at the Midsummer Magic event for illumination, but you are welcome to supply your own or additional lights.
- Houses may not be constructed using any materials harmful to wildlife, including fishing line, food, toxic or flammable substances.
- Houses may be left in the Hand Family Community Room during the Fairy & Troll House Making Days or be dropped off after May 22nd at the reception desk to be displayed at Midsummer Magic. Our staff will store it until the event night and will transport it into the Nature Adventure Trails for display in our Fairy & Troll House Village during Midsummer Magic.
- There is no limit to how many houses you want to submit as long as they follow these guidelines.
- Houses do not have to be made at the Fairy & Troll House Making Days to be submitted for our village. Houses can be brought in between May 22nd-June 20th at 3pm to be displayed during our village.
