City of Inverness, Florida Government

The City of Inverness is located in Central Florida, and is located in eastern Citrus County. Inverness is the county seat, and has been incorporated since 1919. The city was named for the headlands and lochs of Inverness Scotland. Inverness is an energetic small town with several festivals and events each year. The city is home to historic Old Courthouse Museum, and the restored Valerie Theatre Cultural Center.
