Best for Grades K to 2 or any child who needs a little extra help with reading .
Register (as space is limited) and a commitment to a five (5) week program is helpful.
Join us at the public library for an interactive FUN reading program designed to help younger patrons strengthen reading comprehension while building fluency and confidence. Using the exciting adventure story Dinosaurs Before Dark, the first book in the Magic Tree House series, young patrons will travel back to the age of dinosaurs while developing essential literacy skills.
Program Goals:
Improve reading comprehension (understanding characters, setting, plot, and vocabulary)
Increase reading speed and fluency
Build confidence reading aloud
Develop critical thinking and discussion skills
Foster a love of reading in a supportive group setting
We will conclude the program with a viewing of a musical adaptation of the novel that is on YouTube by NOVA and directed by Mary Ann Collins.
Refreshments provided by Friends of the Montpelier Library.
