August 23 & 24 Noon to 4 pm Free Frederick Bates, Missouri’s 2nd governor, died of pleurisy on Thursday, August 4, 1825, at his home, Thornhill, at the age of 48 years. Please come to visit the house and learn about the preparations for his funeral. We will be honoring Governor Bates this August. Please join us.
