Details:
Have you ever wanted to play with a sewing machine? Do you need sewing machine access for a specific project you've been working on for a while? Come learn the basics or experiment with our machines. A staff member will give an overview of how to thread the machine and do basic stitches. Staff will be available to troubleshoot and help with the basics during the hour as well. We will have scrap materials for you to practice on. We will not provide instruction on a specific project. You are also welcome to just come use our machines for the hour if you have something you are working on. If you bring your own project, please be self-directed! We have 8 sewing machines. Register to reserve a machine. If you would like to come with a friend or family member and can share a machine, only one person needs to register. Walk ins will be accepted if we have space. If you would like to bring your own machine to get some help with the basics, that is welcome, but please understand we cannot fix broken machines or troubleshoot problems for personal machines. Members must be 12 years or older to participate in this program. We at AC Library care about your privacy. None of our live programs are recorded. An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least seven (7) days in advance. For assistance, please contact your library or accessibility@aclibrary.org .
