The Art Hive is back! In these classes, we'll explore scale, shape, texture, and color. Thursday 6/18: Foamtastic prints - Explore collagraph printmaking and create a foam plate, then ink and press your design to reveal a bold, unique print! Thursday 6/25 : 3D Animal portraits - Turn recycled materials into a charming gallery wall of painted animal faces! Cut, shape, and paint your own artwork to take home and enjoy. Thursday 7/2: Flip art - Make a fun folding artwork called an Agamograph! A simple, hands-on way to explore art, patterns, and optical illusions. Thursday 7/23: Foil monoprints - Design bold, textured prints using foil, paint, and markers while exploring simple printmaking techniques—each piece is one-of-a-kind. Thursday 7/30: Build-a-beetle- Create your own colorful beetle masterpiece! Using cut paper shapes, bright colors, and layered designs, build a bold bug inspired by nature's tiny treasures. Please note: some activities may be messy, please dress accordingly. We will have some child-sized aprons available. Space and supplies are limited; these classes are first-come, first-served. Tickets will be available before the start of each program. These activities are designed for ages 6 and older. Library staff may take photos, videos, or audio recordings at our events. Please tell us if you do not wish to be photographed, video-recorded, or audio-recorded. We will always respect your requests! An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least seven (7) days in advance.
