The Georgia State Railroad Museum, located in Savannah, Georgia, is a National Historic Landmark dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of American railroading, particularly through the remarkably intact antebellum Central of Georgia Railway complex. It is situated in the former Central of Georgia Railway Repair Shops Complex and Terminal Facilities, which is the oldest and most complete antebellum railroad repair facility in the United States. The museum offers interactive experiences, including a working handcar, tours of historic railcars, and train rides. Its exhibits explore railroad and technological history, industrial slavery, and segregation, and the site serves as an active preservation space where staff restore historic buildings, railcars, and machinery. The museum is part of Tricentennial Park and is operated by the Coastal Heritage Society.
